Joley L. Steffens, Esquire, has practiced Elder Law in Virginia since 2012. Prior to establishing her own law practice, she was a Director at Thompson McMullan in Richmond, Virginia.
Joley is the Immediate Past President of the Virginia Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (VAELA). Joley was named Young Lawyer of the Year by the Richmond Bar Association in 2015, as well as Top 40 Under 40 by Style Weekly Magazine in 2014. Joley received the Volunteer Attorney of the Year Award from Legal Information Network for Cancer (LINC) in 2014, and was recognized in their Attorney Spotlight article in 2013.
Since 2014, Joley has been named a Legal Elite, Legal Services/Pro Bono category, by Virginia Business magazine and for four consecutive years, has been selected to the Super Lawyer’s “Rising Stars” Virginia List, Elder Law category.
Joley is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Joley received her undergraduate education from The College of William and Mary, where she was awarded a dual Bachelor of Arts Degree in the Thomas Jefferson Program in Public Policy and Sociology.
Joley was born and raised in Marion County, Georgia, and lives in Richmond with her family.
